NEW YORK, April 2 (UPI) -- The New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers will kick off the 2007 NFL exhibition season Aug. 5 at the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio.
The Saints-Steelers preseason game is part of Hall of Fame induction ceremonies. The 2007 hall class includes guard Gene Hickerson, wide receiver Michael Irvin, guard/tackle/center Bruce Matthews, tight end Charlie Sanders, running back Thurman Thomas and cornerback Roger Wehrli.
The NFL said there will be two national televised exhibitions featuring the Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts. Indianapolis will play Aug. 9 at Dallas, with Fox airing the game. The Colts will meet the Chicago Bears in a pairing of last year's Super Bowl teams in Aug. 20 in Indianapolis. ESPN will show that game.
The 2007 NFL regular season begins Sept. 6 when the Saints play at Indianapolis.
