NHL: Tampa Bay 5, Washington 2

TAMPA, Fla., March 31 (UPI) -- Vincent Lecavalier scored his 51st goal of the season Saturday night, as the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Washington Capitals, 5-2.

Martin St. Louis and Dan Boyle each had a goal and an assist, Lecavalier added two assists, and goalie Johan Holmqvist stopped 23 of 25 shots for the Lightning, who led, 3-1, after two periods and never trailed.

Tampa Bay, which has 90 points, is in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, one point ahead of the New York Rangers.

Matt Pettinger and Matt Bradley scored, and Olaf Kolzig made 24 saves on 28 shots for the Capitals, whose losing streak grew to six games.
