HUMBLE, Texas, March 31 (UPI) -- Bubba Watson made 10 birdies in 15 holes Saturday and held a three-shot lead when the third round of the Houston Open was suspended by darkness.
A weather delay of more than six hours pushed most tee times back and left a small window of daylight for players to try to complete their round.
Only 41 players finished the third round, leaving 37 to return Sunday morning.
Watson was at 15-under with three holes remaining when play was suspended. He made the last of his 10 birdies on a four-foot putt at No. 15 to take a three-shot lead over Jeff Maggert.
Maggert sank a 26-foot birdie at No. 14, his seventh birdie Saturday, to reach 12-under. The three-time Houston Open runner-up was also through 15 holes.
Adam Scott (65), Paul Stankowski (65) and Johnson Wagner (64) held the clubhouse lead at 11-under 205.
