Dodgers trade for outfielder Brady Clark

LOS ANGELES, March 26 (UPI) -- Outfielder Brady Clark was acquired Monday by the Los Angeles Dodgers, who sent pitcher Elmer Dessens to the Milwaukee Brewers in the deal.

Clark hit .263 with four home runs and 29 runs batted in while playing in 138 games last season. He was also nominated for the "Heart and Hustle Award," given to the player who embodies the values, spirit and tradition of the game.

Clark, who has also played for the Cincinnati Reds, the New York Mets and the Milwaukee Brewers, has a career .278 batting average, 36 home runs and 198 RBI over 710 games.

Dessens, 36, owns a 46-59 lifetime record and 4.41 earned run average in 10 seasons with Pittsburgh, Cincinnati Arizona, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Kansas City.
