Kia Vaughn added 17 points and 10 rebounds for Rutgers (26-8), which also got 11 points from Essence Carson. The Scarlet Knights will take on either LSU or Connecticut in the Final Four.

Briann January scored 12 points in defeat for Arizona State (31-5), which became the first team in program history to advance further than the round of 16.

Rutgers had a 48-26 rebounding edge and led by as many as 24 points.

This is just the second time in its history that, Rutgers, which has no seniors on its roster, has earned a spot in the Final Four. The Scarlet Knights lost in the national semifinals back in 2000.
