Kyle Busch nips Burton at Bristol

BRISTOL, Tenn., March 25 (UPI) -- Kyle Busch edged Jeff Burton by half a car length Sunday to win the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee.

Busch's official margin of victory was .064 of a second.

The race was the first NASCAR event in which the so-called Car of Tomorrow was used. The cars include design features intended to make the cars safer and cheaper to run. The cars will be used at nine races on the Nextel Cup circuit this year and will be fully operational for the start of the 2009 season.

Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick and Greg Biffle rounded out the top five finishers.

Gordon's third-place finish was good enough to move him to the top of the points race, with Burton just three points behind.
