NHL: NY Islanders 4, Philadelphia 3

PHILADELPHIA, March 24 (UPI) -- Andy Hilbert scored the winning goal Saturday as the New York Islanders posted a 4-3 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Hilbert sent the puck over Martin Biron's left shoulder. Hilbert's eighth score of the season, with 4:40 remaining, was the lone goal of the third period.

Richard Blake, Randy Robitaille and Jason Blake also scored, while Viktor Kozlov had two assists for the Islanders, who ended a five-game road losing streak.

The Islanders moved past Carolina and Montreal for the eighth and final playoff spot in the NHL Eastern Conference.

Jeff Carter had a goal and two assists and Randy Jones and Ben Eager also scored in the loss, the Flyers' fourth straight.
