March 23, 2007 at 1:53 AM

UNIONDALE, N.Y., March 23 (UPI) -- Rick DiPietro's 26 saves paced the New York Islanders to a 3-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins Thursday night.

Trent Hunter, Jason Blake and Viktor Kozlov scored for the Islanders while the Penguins came up empty against DiPietro on six power plays.

Colby Armstrong scored the lone goal for Pittsburgh, which has lost its last two after running up five consecutive wins.

"We have to show more discipline," said Pittsburgh head coach Michel Therrien. "This is playoff hockey this time of year."

Ryan Smith assisted on Blake's goal that put the Islanders up 2-1 in the second period.
