NBA: San Antonio 90, Detroit 89

SAN ANTONIO, March 23 (UPI) -- Manu Ginobili made four free throws in the final 20 seconds Friday night as San Antonio held off Detroit, 90-89.

Tony Parker scored 22 points for the Spurs and Tim Duncan had 17. Rasheed Wallace scored 21 for Detroit, which has lost three out of four and seen its lead in the Eastern Conference over Cleveland cut to 1 1/2 games.

Detroit trailed by nine with less than two minutes to go but got within 85-84 with 18.3 seconds left on a layup by Antonio McDyess.

Ginobili then was fouled and he made two free throws. After the Pistons cut their deficit to two points, Ginobili hit two more foul shots with four seconds left.

A three-pointer by Detroit's Tayshaun Prince at the buzzer accounted for the final score.
