BATON ROUGE, La., March 20 (UPI) -- Glen "Big Baby" Davis, Louisiana State's 6-foot-9, 289-pound junior forward, said Tuesday he would make himself eligible for the NBA draft.
Davis said last week he was considering leaving LSU a year early. Tigers Coach John Brady gathered information from NBA scouts to help Davis with the decision.
"I now feel I am physically and mentally ready for the NBA," Davis said at a news conference Tuesday.
Davis became a media darling last year when LSU advanced to the NCAA Final Four. As a sophomore, he averaged 18.6 points and 9.7 rebounds a game while winning Southeastern Conference player of the year honors. This past season, Davis averaged 17.7 points and 10.4 rebounds during LSU's 17-15 season.
