MORGANTOWN, W.Va., March 20 (UPI) -- Frank Young scored 25 points Tuesday to lead the West Virginia Mountaineers to a 71-66 victory over the N.C. State Wolfpack in the quarterfinals of the NIT.
Alex Ruoff added 15 points for the top-seeded Mountaineers (25-9) and also had 11 assists.
Brandon Costner had 22 points and 13 rebounds for North Carolina State (20-16). Engin Atsur added 14 points.
The Mountaineers will play Mississippi State in the semifinals in Madison Square Garden in New York.
