NHL: Los Angeles 5, Columbus 3

LOS ANGELES, March 18 (UPI) -- Jamie Heward had a goal and assist Saturday night to lead the Los Angeles Kings over the Columbus Blue Jackets, 5-3.

Los Angeles led, 2-0, after the first period, and 5-2 after the second. Columbus scored once in the third period to cap the scoring.

Lubomir Visnovsky, Mike Weaver, Rob Blake and Jamie Lundmark scored, Jaroslav Modry had two assists, and Mathieu Garon made 31 saves on 34 shots for the Kings, who have won two of their last three games.

Geoff Platt scored twice, Nikolai Zherdev had three assists, and Brian Boucher and Fredrik Norrena combined to give up five goals on just 20 shots for the Blue Jackets, who have lost four of five.
