SACRAMENTO, March 15 (UPI) -- Arron Afflalo had 22 points and eight rebounds Thursday night as No. 6 UCLA beat Weber State, 70-42, in a first-round NCAA Tournament West Region game.

The 2006 tournament runners-up left no suspense in the contest by racing to a 37-19 halftime lead.

UCLA limited Weber State to 34 percent shooting for the game and forced 17 turnovers.

Darren Collison, who played despite a sprained ankle suffered in practice this week, had 14 points and eight assists. Josh Shipp added 12 points, two rebounds and two assists for the second-seeded Bruins (27-5), who rebounded from a shocking loss to California in the quarterfinals of the Pac-10 Tournament last weekend.

Dezmon Harris scored 10 points and was the only player in double figures for the 15th-seeded Wildcats (20-12), who split their final four games.
