NEW ORLEANS, March 16 (UPI) -- Memphis forward Robert Dozier keyed a late run Friday that lifted the No. 5 Tigers to a 73-58 first-round NCAA Tournament over the North Texas Mean Green.

Memphis extended its winning streak to 23 games and hasn't lost since Dec. 20.

North Texas was upset-minded in the early going before Memphis (31-3) took control. The Tigers, seeded second in the South Region, face seventh-seeded Nevada in Sunday's second round. The Mean Green completed its season with a 23-11 record.

Memphis broke a 28-28 tie by scoring the final nine points of the first half. Joey Dorsey started the spurt with a dunk and, after Jeremy Hunt hit a three-point shot, Dozier was able to work inside for two baskets and a 37-28 Tigers' lead.

North Texas got as close as six in the second half but an 8-0 Memphis run that Doneal Mack started with a three-pointer gave the Tigers control.

Chris Douglas-Roberts paced Memphis with 16 points and Andre Allen added 14. Dozier finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots.

Keith Wooden scored 16 points and Calvin Watson 13 added for North Texas.
