Former PGA Tour player Bud Allin dies

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., March 12 (UPI) -- Former PGA Tour and Champions Tour player Bud Allin died Saturday at 62 years of age after battling several forms of cancer.

Allin joined the PGA Tour in 1970 and earned five tour victories, with his last coming at the 1976 Pleasant Valley Classic.

In 1974, Allin won Doral and the Byron Nelson en route to a ninth-place finish on the PGA Tour money list.

In 1994, Allin turned 50 and joined the Champions Tour. He won the 1997 American Express Invitational. His last appearance on the senior circuit was in 2000.
