
MIAMI, March 11 (UPI) -- Udonis Haslem sank a jumper with less than a second left Sunday night to give Miami a 106-104 victory over Washington and its sixth straight win.
Miami spurted to a 28-14 lead after the first quarter and looked headed for a rout over the Southeast Division leaders, who had been beaten at home Saturday night by New York, 90-89, when Steve Francis hit a three-pointer as time expired.
Miami held a 56-43 halftime advantage, but Washington took an 81-72 lead into the fourth quarter.
Eddie Jones led eight Miami players in double figures with 18 points.
The basket by Haslem countered a three-pointer by Gilbert Arenas with 3.1 seconds remaining.
The Heat have won their last 12 home games.
Arenas led Washington with 33 points, four rebounds, and six assists.
Antawn Jamison had 26 points and 15 rebounds; while Brendan Haywood added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Wizards, who have lost three straight.
