COL BKB: Memphis 71, Tulane 49

MEMPHIS, March 9 (UPI) -- Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 17 points Friday to lead seventh-ranked Memphis to a 71-49 rout of Tulane in the semifinals of the Conference USA Tournament.

The top-seeded Tigers, who started slowly, eliminated all chances for any drama in the contest by building a 41-22 halftime advantage, helped by a 16-0 run.

They held Tulane to 32 percent shooting in the first half, and never led by less than the final 22-point margin in the second.

Jeremy Hunt had 10 points and four rebounds and was the only other player in double figures.

Antonio Anderson added nine points, five assists, and four rebounds for the Tigers (29-3), who extended their nation's best winning streak to 21 straight games.

Donnie Stith led Tulane with 14 points and seven rebounds.

Chris Moore had nine points and five rebounds for the Green Wave (17-13), who had a four-game winning streak snapped.
