ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y., March 8 (UPI) -- Basketball Coach Anthony Solomon will not return next season as the coach at St. Bonaventure University, the school announced Thursday.
The Bonnies were 7-22 this season, including a 4-12 Atlanta 10 Conference record. Since Solomon was hired as the St. Bonaventure coach in May 2003 the team has posted a 24-88 record.
Sister Margaret Carney, St. Bonaventure president, thanked Solomon for his "dedication and tireless work during a very difficult period for basketball program."
Solomon said: "I wish to express appreciation to the university for the opportunity to be a part of this community for the past four years. I also want to encourage the returning team members to remain committed to their future at this fine institution. Finally, I extend special thanks to the alumni and local community."
