COL BKB: Nevada 88, Idaho 56

LAS CRUCES, N.M., March 8 (UPI) -- Nevada's Marcelus Kemp had 17 points and three assists Thursday and 10th-ranked Wolf Pack ripped Idaho, 88-56, in the quarterfinals of the WAC Tournament.

Nevada bolted out to a 9-3 lead when Idaho missed its first three shots and committed two turnovers. The lead was 49-24 at the break and Idaho never mounted a serious threat.

David Ellis had 11 points and four rebounds; three-time WAC Player of the Year Nick Fazekas had 10 points and 10 rebounds; and Kyle Shiloh added nine points and six assists for the Wolf Pack (28-3), who have won the regular season conference title four straight seasons and are trying to defend their 2006 tournament title.

Thursday's win was Nevada's seventh straight against Idaho, which was led by Keoni Watson's 18 points, six rebounds and four assists.

David Jackson had 17 points and three rebounds for the Vandals (4-27), who ended their season with 13 losses in their last 14 games.
