NHL: San Jose 3, Minnesota 0

ST. PAUL, Minn., March 6 (UPI) -- Evgeni Nabokov stopped all 26 shots he faced Tuesday for his sixth shutout of the season as the San Jose Sharks defeated the Minnesota Wild, 3-0.

Nabokov has made 52 saves in his last two starts, back-to-back road shutouts.

Joe Thornton had a pair of assists for the Sharks. Milan Michalek had a goal and an assist and Ryane Clowe and Jonathan Cheechoo also scored for San Jose.

Niklas Backstrom allowed three goals on 24 shots for the Wild, losers of three of their last four games.

The Sharks had three second-period goals in under six minutes.
