NHL: Columbus 4, Phoenix 3

PHOENIX, March 4 (UPI) -- Fredrik Modin scored the go-ahead goal 27 seconds into the third period Saturday night and the Columbus Blue Jackets went on to down Phoenix, 4-3.

Modin scored the 199th goal of his career with a backhander that got past Curtis Joseph.

Rick Nash then gave the Blue Jackets a two-goal lead with his second score of the night, as Columbus won its second straight.

Jeff Taffe brought the Coyotes within one midway through the third period with his first goal for Phoenix since 2004.
