NASHVILLE, March 3 (UPI) -- Gary Ervin scored 21 points Saturday and Patrick Beverley had 20 as Arkansas upset No. 23 Vanderbilt, 82-67.

The Razorbacks improved their hopes for a bid to the NCAA Tournament by winning back-to-back games for the first time since Jan. 6. Arkansas improved to 18-12 for the season and to 7-9 in the Southeastern Conference Tournament.

Derrick Byars scored 19 points for Vanderbilt (20-10, 10-6). The Commodores had won four of five coming into the game.

A 10-3 Arkansas run midway through the first half put the Razorbacks in charge and they led at halftime, 38-26.
