PORTLAND, Ore., March 2 (UPI) -- LaMarcus Aldridge finished off a hectic Thursday by scoring 30 points and helping the Portland Trail Blazers overwhelm Charlotte, 127-90.

The Trail Blazers' victory came after General Manager Steve Patterson resigned when franchise owner Paul Allen chose not to give him a new contract.

Even during the game there were distractions as Allen addressed the media and said he was committed to keeping the team in Portland.

Zach Randolph and Martell Webster both scored 20 points for Portland, which built a 20-point halftime cushion.

Charlotte, which lost its fourth in a row, was led by Matt Carroll with 20.
