COL BKB: Memphis 78, UTEP 67

EL PASO, Texas, March 2 (UPI) -- Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 21 points Thursday night and Jeremy Hunt had 19, as No. 6 Memphis won its 18th straight game, 78-67, over Texas-El Paso.

The Tigers have the nation's longest active major college winning streak and have wrapped up the Conference USA regular-season championship.

Memphis (26-3, 15-0 Conference USA) owned only a one-point lead midway through the second period before going on a 9-0 run.

Stefon Jackson had 19 points for the Miners (14-15, 6-9), who have lost five out of six.

Memphis will have a bye past the first round of the Conference USA Tournament, which begins next Wednesday on the Tigers' home floor.
