NHL: Calgary 2, Minnesota 1 (SO)

CALGARY, Alberta, March 1 (UPI) -- Jarome Iginla scored the only goal of the shootout Wednesday night as the Calgary Flames defeated Minnesota, 2-1.

The Flames moved one point in front of Minnesota in the battle for seventh place in the Western Conference.

The game was scoreless through two periods before Minnesota's Marian Gaborik produced a power-play goal on a slap shot 1:50 into the third.

Robyn Regehr tied it with 4:31 to play in regulation.

This was the seventh straight game between the teams won by the home club. Minnesota had a three-game winning streak snapped while Calgary won its third straight -- all at home.
