DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Third-seeded Nikolay Davydenko and No. 6 Tomas Berdych were ousted in second-round play Wednesday at the $1.5 million Dubai Tennis Championships.

Four other seeded players, including world No. 1 Roger Federer and defending champion Rafael Nadal, advanced to the Dubai quarterfinals.

Davydenko was felled by Olivier Rochus in a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 decision and Berdych was dumped by Mikhail Youzhny, who won last week's tournament in The Netherlands, 7-6 (8-6), 6-3.

Youzhny moved into the quarterfinals against Nadal, who was a 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (7-2) victor over Igor Andreev. Rochus meets fifth-seeded Tommy Haas, who eliminated Florent Serra, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3, Wednesday.

Federer extended his match win streak to 38 with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Daniele Bracciali. Seventh-seeded Novak Djokovic, a 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 winner over Rainer Schuettler, next draws Federer.

Also Wednesday, Robin Soderling topped Dominik Hrbaty, 6-3, 7-5, and Fabrice Santoro beat Gilles Simon, 6-4, 6-2. Soderling and Santoro face off in the quarterfinals.
