JERSEY CITY, N.J., Feb. 27 (UPI) -- New York Giants receiver Amani Toomer and his estranged wife give divergent versions of who is to blame for the breakup of their marriage.
Toomer claims in court papers filed in Jersey City, N.J., that Yola Dabrowski broke a commitment to have children and instead had abortions. He also accuses her of taking up smoking because she knew second-hand smoke would aggravate his asthma, the New York Post reported.
Dabrowski's filing says she decided not to have a child with Toomer when his "complete lack of accountability and inability to conceive the responsibilities associated with raising a child became apparent."
A law student, Dabrowski claims Toomer tried to keep her from taking first-year advances by stealing her laptop computer just before the exams.
In happier times, the couple lived in Weehawken, N.J., in a townhouse with a view of the Hudson River.
