BUFFALO, N.Y., Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Goaltender Ty Conklin was acquired Tuesday by the Buffalo Sabres, who traded away backup goalie Martin Biron.
Buffalo got Conklin from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for a fifth-round draft choice in this year's NHL draft. He will backup Sabres starting goaltender Ryan Miller, who was an All-Star choice this year.

Conklin split time this season between Columbus and American Hockey League affiliate Syracuse. He appeared in 11 NHL games this season he had a 2-3-2 record and 3.30 goals-against average.
He spent his first three NHL seasons with Edmonton, where he was 29-22-4 with a 2.60 GAA in 71 games.
Buffalo traded Biron to Philadelphia earlier Tuesday for a second-round draft pick.
