Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Kevin Garnett scored 26 points Sunday and pulled down a key offensive rebound that wrapped up the Minnesota Timberwolves' 98-94 win over Washington.
The Timberwolves halted a three-game losing streak, with Ricky Davis scoring 27 and Randy Foye 13. Minnesota has beaten the Wizards in Minneapolis seven straight times.
Minnesota had only a two-point lead when the Timberwolves' Mark Blount missed two free throws. Garnett, however, rebounded the second miss and Randy Foye then hit two foul shots with 13.1 seconds to play.
DeShawn Stevenson led Washington with 21 points.
