PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Ime Udoka missed a free throw with eighth-tenths of a second left Friday night, allowing the Memphis Grizzlies to escape with a 103-102 victory over Portland.
The Grizzlies won on the road for just the fourth time all season.
Hakim Warrick gave Memphis a four-point lead with 23 seconds to go by making a pair of free throws, but Brandon Roy cut the Portland deficit to one with a three-pointer. Damon Stoudamire then went to the line for Memphis with a second remaining, but he made only one of two, giving the Grizzlies a 103-101 lead.
Udoka rebounded the Stoudamire miss and was fouled by Lawrence Roberts. But after making the first foul shot, Udoka missed the one that would have forced overtime.
Pau Gasol led Memphis with 23 points and Zach Randolph had 25 for Portland.
