ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, Feb. 20 (UPI) --
Second-seeded Tommy Robredo
and No. 3 Ivan Ljubicic
each notched straight-set wins Tuesday in the $1 million ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament.
Robredo had little trouble in getting past Simone Bolelli 6-2, 6-2 while Ljubicic was pushed a little bit more in dispatching Thiemo De Bakker 7-5, 6-3.
The tournament lost a pair of top-seeded players Tuesday when No. 7 Lleyton Hewitt withdrew due to a right hamstring injury and fourth-seeded Tomas Berdych was upset, dropping a 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-1 decision to Mikhail Youzhny.
David Ferrer, the No. 6 seed, fared better, winning 6-3, 6-0 over Christophe Rochus, who was last year's runner-up in this event.
Other tournament winners Tuesday were: Florian Mayer, who beat Dominik Hrbaty 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 7-5; and Kristof Vliegen, who topped Jarkko Nieminen 6-1, 6-4.
The tournament continues through the week with the eventually champion taking home $193,000.
