NHL: Vancouver 2, Chicago 1 (SO)

CHICAGO, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- A shootout goal by Brendan Morrison Friday night gave the Vancouver Canucks a 2-1 victory against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The contest was tied, 1-1, through regulation after Chicago's Patrick Sharp and Vancouver's Matt Cooke traded goals in the third period.

There were no goals in the subsequent overtime.

Robert Luongo allowed one goal on 35 shots for the Canucks, who have won three in a row.

Patrick Lalime made 28 saves on 29 shots for the Blackhawks, who have split their last four games.

In the penalty-filled contest, Chicago was 0-for-9 on the power play, and Vancouver was 0-for-5.
