
SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Deron Williams had a career-high 33 points and handed out 12 assists Wednesday night, as the Utah Jazz beat Cleveland, 99-98.
Mehmet Okur scored 22 points and Andrei Kirilenko had 10 for Utah, which won its sixth straight game.
Larry Hughes scored 33 points and Dwight Gooden had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Cavaliers, who lost for the first time in their last four games. LeBron James finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
Hughes tied the game at 89-89 with 3:34 left when he hit a pair of free throws, but Okur hit two free throws for Utah -- and then hit three more, to put the Jazz up, 94-89.
Utah ran its lead to 97-89 before Cleveland put on one last rally -- led by James with a lay-up and a pair of free throws. Aleksandar Pavlovic got the Cavs within 99-98 with a three-point with 28 seconds left, but the Jazz held on for the win.
