PITTSBURGH, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- David Padgett scored 16 points to lead a balanced Louisville offense Monday as the Cardinals upset the fifth-ranked Pittsburgh Panthers, 66-53.
Edgar Sosa and Juan Palacios shared runner-up scoring with nine points each as the Cardinals (18-8, 8-4 Big East), who led by as many 20 points, continued their belated bid for an NCAA Tournament berth.

It was the first time Louisville had beaten a ranked team since 2005.
Aaron Gray had 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Panthers, who had a five-game win streak halted. Levance Fields added 11 points for Pitt (22-4, 10-2).
