
DALLAS, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Philippe Boucher scored the eventual game-winning goal Sunday as the Dallas Stars beat the Colorado Avalanche, 7-5.
Dallas scored three times in both the first and second periods, but had to hold on after Colorado came within 6-5 in the third on a goal by Brett MacLean.
Mike Ribeiro and Jere Lehtinen each had a goal and an assist, and Jeff Halpern and Joel Lundqvist also scored once each. Starting goaltender Marty Turco gave up three goals on 15 shots, and Mike Smith allowed two goals on 14 shots in relief for the Stars, who have a three-game winning streak.
Joe Sakic and Milan Hejduk each had a goal and an assist for Colorado, and Paul Stastny and Wojtek Wolski each added a goal. Peter Budaj stopped 11 of 15 shots before Jose Theodore made seven saves on 10 shots for the Avalanche, who have lost four of their last six games.
Both teams had one power-play goal.
