
WASHINGTON, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Rookie LaMarcus Aldridge had 18 points and 10 rebounds Sunday afternoon as the Portland Trail Blazers ripped Washington, 94-73.
The lowly Blazers controlled the game from the outset. They led, 21-12, after the first quarter and went up, 41-30 at the half -- and then capped the rout by out-scoring Washington, 31-24, in the final stanza.
Jarrett Jack had 18 points, three rebounds and five assists; Juan Dixon totaled 14 points, three rebounds, three assists and four steals. Zach Randolph committed seven turnovers but contributed 10 points and seven rebounds for Portland, which has won its last two games to rise to just 22-30 for the season.
DeShawn Stevenson led Washington with 12 points, Caron Butler scored 10, and scoring leader Gilbert Arenas was held to nine points for the Wizards, who played without suspended center Etan Thomas.
He was involved in a fight with teammate Brendan Haywood at practice Friday.
