DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Tony Stewart won the $1,153,518 Budweiser Shootout Saturday night at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Stewart finished the 70-lap event 0.131 seconds ahead of David Gilliland in a non-championship points exhibition event. The win was the third of Stewart's Nextel Cup career.

The race was broken into two segments -- 20 laps and the 50-lap finale.

Kevin Harvick finished first in the 20-lap first session. Dale Jarrett led the 21-car field to the opening green flag, and Brian Vickers and then Kyle Busch took turns at the front of the pack.

Brothers Kurt and Kyle Busch took an early lead in the final segment, but Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr. were just behind them.
