
OXFORD, Miss., Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Clarence Sanders scored seven of his 16 points during a late run Saturday afternoon as the Mississippi Rebels beat No. 19 Alabama, 75-69.
Sanders' jumper with 4:23 left put the Rebels ahead and he sank a three-pointer with 2:10 left to cap the 10-2 run, giving Ole Miss a 71-66 edge.
Alabama got within three points at 71-68, but never got any closer, as the Rebels (16-8, 5-5 SEC) won for the fourth time in their last five games and improved to 12-1 at home.
Bam Doyne had 17 points for Ole Miss, which moved into a first-place tie with Alabama in the SEC West Division.
Richard Hendrix had 18 points and seven rebounds for the Crimson Tide (18-6, 5-5). Mykal Riley added 16 points for Alabama, which led by as many as seven points in the second half.
