NHL: New Jersey 2, N.Y. Islanders 0

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Martin Brodeur stopped all 25 shots Thursday night to lead the New Jersey Devils past the New York Islanders, 2-0.

Brodeur recorded his league-leading 10th shutout of the season and the 90th of his career.

Jamie Langenbrunner scored the only goal Brodeur would need at 10:42 of the second period, and Jay Pandolfo added a short-handed goal at 16:24 of the third for the Devils, who have a four-game winning streak.

The 34-year-old Brodeur ranks third all-time in shutouts, behind George Hainsworth (94) and Terry Sawchuk (103).

Rick DiPietro gave up two goals on 37 shots for the Islanders, who have lost two of their last three games and suffered their fourth loss in five games against New Jersey this season.

There were no power-play goals in the game.
