NHL: Columbus 2, Calgary 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Fredrik Modin's goal at 10:42 of the third period Thursday night lifted the Columbus Blue Jackets past the Calgary Flames, 2-1.

David Vyborny also scored in the third as Columbus overcame a 1-0 deficit after two periods.

Fredrik Norrena stopped 24 of 25 shots for the Blue Jackets, who broke a three-game losing streak.

Matthew Lombardi scored the lone goal, forward Kristian Huselius extended his point streak to an NHL season-high 14 games with an assist, and Jamie McLennan gave up two goals on 31 shots for the Flames, who are 5-1-3 in their last nine games.

Lombardi scored the contest's only power-play goal.
