Tiger Woods out until Match Play

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Despite rumors Tiger Woods would return to play at the Nissan Open, the U.S. golfer's Web site said he will wait until the Match Play Championship.

Woods' participation in the World Golf Championships event, scheduled to begin Feb. 21 at Arizona's Gallery Golf Club, will mark his first PGA Tour event since winning last month's Buick Invitational.

That win helped him extend his Tour winning streak to seven.

The streak began after Woods came in second at the Western Open last July.

Last week, golf's No. 1 player tied for third overall at the European Tour's Dubai Desert Classic.
