DALLAS, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Ron Rivera finally interviewed with the Dallas Cowboys, despite a snowstorm that threatened to keep his plane grounded.

At least 10 candidates are in the running for the Cowboys' top coaching job. Rivera's interview was put off until after Super Bowl XLI, which the Bears lost to Indianapolis, 29-17.

"There was a vicious rumor going around that Chicago didn't' want me to leave so they weren't going to let the plane go," Rivera told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Rivera met with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who the Star-Telegram reports favors 49ers offensive coordinator Norv Turner to become the seventh coach in Cowboys history. Jones is set to talk with the Colts assistant head coach/quarterbacks coach Jim Caldwell Wednesday.

An announcement on who will replace retiring Bill Parcells could be made as early as Thursday.
