
PITTSBURGH, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Javon Walker scored three touchdowns Sunday to help Denver beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, 31-20.
One of his touchdowns came after a 72-yard run in the third quarter, and gave the Broncos a 21-10 lead that they never surrendered. He also caught two touchdown passes from Jake Plummer, who threw a third scoring pass to Rod Smith.
Walker finished with six receptions for 134 yards. Smith caught four passes for 46 yards, and Plummer completed 16 of 27 passes for 227 yards, as the Broncos improved to 6-2.
Denver is tied with San Diego atop the AFC West Division.
Ben Roethlisberger went 38-for-54 for 433 yards and one touchdown, but three interceptions. Willie Parker rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries, and caught a touchdown pass.
Hines Ward caught seven passes for 127 yards and Jeff Reed kicked two field goals for the Steelers (2-6), who committed five turnovers.
