MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Feb. 3 (UPI) -- While many top NFL officials support a recently announced Miami Dolphins game in London, many of the team's season ticket holders strongly oppose the move.
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported that NFL officials like Dolphins owner H. Wayne Huizenga supported the international game, but many of the team's loyal fans criticized the loss of a regular season home game.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell revealed on Friday that the Dolphins would play the New York Giants on Oct. 28 at London's Wembley Stadium.
"I think it's horrible. I think it's a travesty," Dolphins' season-ticket holder Eric Braunstein said. "I don't understand why they would take a regular-season game.
"Why don't they just do a preseason game? Those people (in London) don't have any allegiance to these teams and players," he added.
To minimize any possible inconvenience to such ticket holders, the newspaper said the Dolphins organization will either not charge them for the game or assist them in their travel plans to London.
