NBA: Atlanta 93, Orlando 90

ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Joe Johnson scored 39 points Friday night to lead the Atlanta Hawks past the Orlando Magic, 93-90.

Josh Smith had 24 points and 11 rebounds, and reserve Josh Childress added 12 points, five rebounds and four assists. Zaza Pachulia had nine points and nine rebounds, and Johnson also had three rebounds and six assists for the Hawks, who overcame a 14-point second half deficit to get their second straight win.

Their biggest deficit was 55-41 with 11:37 left in the third quarter, but a 22-9 run -- capped by a pair of Johnson free throws -- left them behind by just 64-63 with 4:16 left in the quarter.

From there, the game was close until the end.

Dwight Howard had 19 points and four rebounds to lead the Magic. Jameer Nelson and Tony Battie each scored 14 points as Orlando lost for the fourth time in their last five games.
