COL BKB: Notre Dame 66, Villanova 63

SOUTH BEND, Ind., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Ryan Ayers sank a game-tying three-pointer and then sank 2-of-3 foul shots with 1:39 left Saturday as No. 21 Notre Dame beat Villanova, 66-63.

Ayers is the son of former Philadelphia 76ers head coach Randy Ayers.

Colin Falls scored 23 points and Russell Carter had 14 as Notre Dame (17-4, 5-3 Big East) avenged a 102-87 loss to the Wildcats Jan. 17.

Scottie Reynolds scored 19 points for the Wildcats (14-6, 3-4).

Villanova held a 25-21 halftime lead and was ahead 47-40 with 9:46 remaining.
