NHL: St. Louis 1, San Jose 0

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Manny Legace made 31 saves Saturday night to record his third shutout of the season in the St. Louis Blues' 1-0 win over the San Jose Sharks.

Bill Guerin scored the only goal of the game, helping the Blues head into the All-Star break with a three-game winning streak, and with wins in six of their last seven games. The Blues are 19-21-8 at the break.

San Jose's Evgeni Nabokov faced only 13 shots but the Sharks still saw their four-game winning streak come to an end. They are 32-16 on the year.

Late in the second period Guerin took the puck from behind the net and lifted a backhanded shot that went off Nabokov's leg and into the net.

Legace faced 13 shots in the first period and 11 in the second while earning the 16th shutout of his career.
