NBA: LA Clippers 112, Memphis 91

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Elton Brand scored 34 points to lead five LA Clippers in double figures Saturday in a 112-91 rout of the Memphis Grizzlies.

Sam Cassell had 21 points and 14 assists and Chris Kaman had 12 points and nine rebounds for LA. Corey Maggette had 11 points and nine rebounds and Cuttino Mobley scored 11 for the Clippers, who won their second straight game and their fourth out of six.

Pau Gasol led Memphis with 27 points and seven rebounds. Rudy Gay had 17 points and Mike Miller scored 13, while Hakim Warrick and Chucky Atkins scored 10 points each for the Grizzlies, who lost for the fourth time in five games.

The Clippers took control early and out-scored the Grizzlies, 39-12, in the second quarter to take a 63-40 halftime lead. Memphis never got the lead down to less than double digits the rest of the way, and trailed by 20, 69-49, after three quarters.
