Former NBA player Orlando Woolridge arrested for theft
DAVIE, Fla., Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Cam Cameron, offensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers, has been hired to be the next head coach of the Miami Dolphins.
The Dolphins Friday said Cameron had agreed to a four-year contract as he becomes the seventh head coach in franchise history.
Cameron, 45, was the head coach at Indiana University for five seasons, where he built an 18-37 record before joining the Chargers. With Cameron as offensive coordinator, San Diego led the NFL in scoring in 2006 and was in the top five in that category in both 2004 and 2005.
The Dolphins head coaching position came open about two weeks ago when Nick Saban left Miami to become head coach at the University of Alabama.
Cameron previously served on Norv Turner's staff at the Washington Redskins and Bo Schembechler's staff at the University of Michigan.
