DENVER, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Paul Stastny, Milan Hejduk and Tyler Arnason combined for eight points Wednesday night, leading the Colorado Avalanche to a 4-3 win over the Phoenix Coyotes.
Stastny had a pair of goals, Hejduk a goal and two assists and Arnason three assists as the Avalanche broke the Coyotes' six-game road winning streak. Phoenix hasn't won in Colorado since Oct. 30, 2000.
The Coyotes made this one interesting after falling behind, 4-1, in the third period. Michael Zigomanis made it a two-goal game with a shot from the left point with 6:25 to go, and a minute later Shane Doan knocked in a rebound and made the score 4-3.
Colorado stiffened, however, and pulled out the win.
Stastny took a pass from Arnason and scored 7:28 into the opening period for the game's first goal. Phoenix tied things with a goal from Georges Laraque early in the second period when Hejduk scored on a power play, and Andrew Brunette made it 3-1 with a goal in the final minute of the second.
Stastny scored at 7:21 of the third period for the three-goal lead that nearly got away.
